The hunt for this mysterious creature has often been rather exhausting, but I’ve finally found our fanged friend.  It was just after dusk when I was taking a leisurely stroll through the graveyard – the scent of dirt, night blooming florals, and dark musk filled the air, when I felt a hand as cold as ice grip my shoulder.  I spun around only to come face to face with the vampire.  Not a word was spoken, he simply handed me an envelope – an invitation to his vampire ball with a promise that no harm will come to me… I’ve decided I will attend, you should know it’s to be held on October 31st of the current year in case I am to go missing.

Nearly every ancient (and not-so-ancient) civilization has some sort of mythology about an undead creature, vampire, or otherwise… Whether it’s Strigoi, Strix, or Draugr, each of these creatures are very different from each other, and the vampire we’ve come to know today.

The one common thread – until recently, they were considered dangerous, hideous creatures who were meant to strike fear in the hearts of man… In some parts of the world, they still do.
