French Quarter | Sort Candle

$34.00 USD

Once again, my research has brought me back to New Orleans, and I’m quite liking my time here.  I do agree with your assessment, there is most definitely an otherworldly, supernatural feeling in this old city.  The French Quarter is vibrant, bursting at the seams with delectable scents – the creole spices, beignets, and bourbon… It has the power to draw you in, like the vampires and witches this place is so famous for.  Speaking of, I will let you know as soon as I happen upon the thing you’ve requested, I locate.  Until then…

Scent History

The French Quarter evokes thoughts of Mardi Gras, gorgeous architecture, jazz, and maybe a supernatural being, or two.  But its storied history is even more interesting — founded in 1718 by French Canadian naval officer, Jean Baptiste Bienville, the French influence is still apparent more than four centuries later.  However, we have the Spanish to thank for most of the historic architecture we see today, such as the iron balconies, stucco-over-brick buildings, and stunning courtyards.

Like most historical cities, New Orleans and the French Quarter have several ghost stories linked to its past.  From haunted restaurants requiring an exorcism to St. Louis Cemetery, and the LaLaurie house.
