I had the pleasure of taking Afternoon Tea in the orangery.  I still can’t decide what I enjoyed more, the scrumptious scones, and freshly made berry jam, or the warm sun shining through the windows in a normally dreary Victorian England.  The Earl Grey was steeped to perfection, the scent a true aromatic delight as it blended itself with the fresh baked goods and jam, filling the room.  You must join me the next time I visit this time and place.

In 1840, Anna, the Duchess of Bedford, introduced afternoon tea to England. Served at four o’clock, a variety of sweet and savory snacks kept our dear Duchess from feeling too hungry between her midday lunch, and late dinner.
