I know I’m meant to be on holiday, soaking up the sun in Florida, but I couldn’t help venturing to Saint Augustine for a look at the historic sites. I do enjoy a good climb around the old forts, and the ghost tours can be quite fun, even if a bit campy. I had the opportunity to spend some time at the lighthouse too, and I’m not sure if it’s the sun talking, but the hint of orange blossom mixed with the salty, sea air – I’d swear I was in heaven. You must join me on my next trip, I promise the alligators aren’t walking the streets all the time, and the locals aren’t as feral as the news would have you believe.

Scent History
Scent History
Said to be haunted by former caretakers, and sadly the ghosts of children, the Saint Augustine Lighthouse is considered one of the oldest, and most haunted locations in the United States. Its rich history started with the Spanish in the 1500’s, and while the structure has changed over the years it’s been a constant from the birth of our nation through modern times.
